May wasn’t the best month for me, with a thesis deadline, imminent exams and falling ill, but this is exactly why I like to compose these posts because they make myself see how many good things there were this month, despite “the bad” (not even that bad, really, but complaining about it helps). So here are some things I’ve loved this month.
My favourite snippets from this month. It’s been a GREAT one.
Despite February being the shortest month, it definitely didn’t mean it was any less fun.
Due to lack of time (because I’m still in Scotland), this month, you get the uncut, unedited version of all the pictures. Enjoy!
Finding out that my grandma loves the mug I got her when I returned from Sweden (it says Mormor, which means grandma) she nearly got a heart attack when she dropped it. It was fine. And so was she. Thank god.
Finding Vegemite in my local supermarket. Life will never be the same again.
It will be better.
Finding love in unexpected places. And also, I really love marzipan.
Getting a haircut. Blonder. Shorter. Crazier?
The first snow and my mum spying on the neighbours (just kidding. Or am I?)
Baking jam drops, that, when I see them now, look a lot like boobs. Just sayin’
Mid-exam break with some fika and friends
My grandma’s cacti bathing in the sun whilst it’s snowing outside.
Winning at Scrabble :)
Starting to run and smoothies. Best combo.
Family dinner in Leuven
Buying flowers. Or just seeing flowers.
Finding old photos of all the exchanges students from the Humanities department in Sweden. Who can spot me?
My dad can be hilarious sometimes. Unintentionally.
Leaving for Edinburgh, Scotland.
Another round up of this month’s favourite moments. I don’t know how it happened, but there were so many this month. Too many to share, so here’s a selection. Enjoy!
Early Christmas parties with some of my uni friends
Night at the Museum/Museumnacht in Ghent. In some of the Downton Abbey scenery followed by some high tea in the beautiful Sint Pietersabdij
Booking a trip to Canada (and a tiny tiny bit of the US) next summer!
6 weeks, 2 countries, lots of places. Can’t wait!
Building a gingerbread house with these nutters.
Putting up the Christmas tree. And potentially, maybe, possibly eating some of its decorations (talking about the candy canes, guys, calm down)
Celebrating the Swedish holiday, Lucia at the Scandinavian department of my university. (more about this celebration here)
Gabrielle Aplin’s new album. No explanation needed here.
Exploring a bit of Brussels in its Christmassy atmosphere.
And then onto Leuven.
Popping over to Barcelona (aka our student restaurant ‘De Brug’ in Ghent) to see Kaatje, my fave.
Another weekend, another quiz. Am I starting to take after my dad? Is this really happening?
Trying something new: experimenting with make-up.
Mexican dinner date with Mum. She’s really keen on the nachos as you can probably tell by the look on her face.
Getting this kind of mail! All the way from Canada. Love it.
Exams. THE WORST TIME. But also the best when your mum brings home some fruity goodness. Having a berry good time. Right, I said it. I don’t apologise for puns.
Taking a walk as a break from studying.
Watching the Downton Abbey finale. Last episode ever. EVER. This called for a glass of wine.
And finally, the privileges of getting up early to study.
Not bad, not bad at all.
See you in the new year!
