Dressed to impress

When I stumbled upon this high neck midi dress at Zara a couple of weeks ago, it immediately “spoke” to me. There was something about the cut that intrigued and the combination of the turtle neck and short sleeves intrigued me. I bought it anyways, because it felt really comfortable and it’s one of those buys that was a bit of a gamble but turns out to be a winner! I have fallen head over heals: the length is perfect, with a bit of a side split to make it playful, the colours are my cup of tea because they go really well with a dark red lipstick and the stripes are flattering to my figure because they are vertical and make me look taller. Despite the short sleeves, it’s also surprisingly warm! In case you’re interested, you can shop the dress here.

Hösten

Fall is here, and that means pulling out comfy oversized sweaters and woollen jumpers. Below features one of my favourite outfits because it combines comfy with classy. I also like combining different tones of the same colour (in this case grey) that are colder with the warmer fall tones (in this case my brown leather shoes). What I’m wearing in this view from the top:

Shoes – Pikolinos

Jeans – Levi’s

Jumper – Opus

Coat – Zara Basic

Bag – Fiorelli Mia Crossbody

The Ardennes

Last weekend, I spent some quality time with my three best girlfriends in the Ardennes, the most well-known forested area in Belgium. To reminisce over the wonderful memories we made, I thought it’d be a cool idea to make a photo report. Here are some photos that made it to the family album. The pictures are a combination of three locations: Spa, Lierneux and La-Roche-en-Ardenne.

A fall breeze swept away more than I anticipated

It’s funny how you don’t see the falling of the leaves

but the barrenness of the trees surprises

It’s funny how you don’t see the light slipping away

but yet you notice the darkness of the hour

It’s funny how you don’t observe the days getting shorter

but evenings have never felt so long

It’s funny how you don’t notice the first moment you put on a scarf

until you feel the sudden chill creeping up your spine

It’s funny, the way the colours evolve,

the seasons change,

and time slipping away,

slowly

It’s funny, how life catches up with you

While you are doing dishes and deciding what to have for dinner

While making lunch boxes and booking summer holidays

While riding trains and making ways through crowds

While folding laundry and putting memories in boxes

It’s funny, this whole ticking of the time

The way life just

happens

Red riding hood

It’s been a loooong time since I’ve posted an outfit post, but here’s one for you to celebrate autumn looming . The star of this post is my red rain coat that I love! It was a bargain when I bought it in Marks & Spencer in Edinburgh two years ago but it adds just that pop of colour that an outfit needs, particularly on those grey and rainy days. It never fails to put me in a good mood. I especially like pairing it with black and white to add some contrast. I’ve also been looking at what’s in stores and online for fall season, and I’m pretty sure a similar coat shouldn’t be too hard to find! I highly recommend!
